STEINER STUDENTS SCOUR THE SPIT AND WOODS
Noosa Pengari Steiner High School students collected 10 bags of rubbish, two chairs and a purple buddha in a two-hour sweep of Noosa Woods and The Spit last week.
The initiative came from the school's student council, who wanted to measurably improve Noosa's environs by contributing to Clean Up Australia Day. The decision saw students scouring the bush during near-record heat and humidity on Friday, March 2.
Among the findings were two old office chairs, a purple coloured buddha and ten garbage bags of rubbish, including many glass bottles and drink cans.
This year will see the graduation of the pioneering year of Class 12 students from the Doonan campus.
